Location:
Bangkok Shambhala Meditation Center
Join us for a meditation, reading and discussion class every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm - 8pm. Join by Google Meet or attend the class in person at the Shambhala Center.
This weekly event includes group meditation, followed by reading of a chapter from the current book, followed by group discussion on the material,  plus refreshments and social time at the end.

Readings and discussions are based on the book,  "Carefree Dignity: Discourses on Training in the Nature of Mind", by Tsoknyi Rinpoche.  Tsoknyi Rinpoche is a reincarnate lama educated in the Tibetan Buddhist
tradition.  "Being carefree, you can fit in anywhere. If you’re not care free you keep on bumping up against things. Your life becomes so narrow, so tight; it gets very claustrophobic. Carefree means being wide open from within, not constricted. Carefree doesn’t mean careless. It is not that you don’t care about others, not that you don’t have compassion or are unfriendly. Carefree is being really simple, from the inside.  Dignity is not conceit but rather what shines forth from this carefree confidence.”
Tsoknyi Rinpoche’s teaching style embodies a vividness that is a play
between himself and his audience. His immediateness includes gestures
and examples that entice us to understanding. Through guided meditations he offers direct participation as a delightful enhancement to our practice. Simple, straightforward and profound, Carefree Dignity is a
book that captivates our intellect while enriching our awareness.

You won't need to have your own copy, but if you're joining remotely, it would be good to have it to help you follow along... We'll read aloud together.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meditate in a supportive group setting, learn about the principles of meditation, and to meet and mingle with fellow practitioners (bring your friends)! We welcome both newcomers and familiar faces. No previous experience needed. Come to one class, or come every week.

This is a drop-in class.  No previous attendance, registration, or fee is required.  Donations are always appreciated, but not mandatory.  Suggested Donation 100 Baht (or more).   Everyone who contributes time &/or energy to help make these classes happen is an unpaid volunteer. Thanks for your participation and support!
