Mindfulness meditation provides many benefits – it develops the qualities of stability, clarity and strength of mind. It allows us to live more mindfully and so improves confidence and concentration, and enables us to handle stress better. Meditation can be incredibly rejuvenating for the body and the mind, but it can be challenging to get started, especially if you're struggling with the posture.
This class is for anyone who's tried meditation and found it to be uncomfortable and unpleasant. Open to meditation practitioners of any tradition, weather you're new to meditation or have years of experience.
The instructor, Jamie Reinhardt has been a meditation practitioner for 25 years, and a yoga practitioner for over 20 years. He's been a meditation instructor in the Shambhala lineage since 2005, and has lived in Thailand for over 12 years. He currently serves as the resident meditation instructor, and center director of the Bangkok Shambhala Meditation Center, as a volunteer.
The cost of the class is 200 Baht. No advance registration required. There's no special clothing required (come as you are), and you don't need to bring anything with you to the class. Feel free to bring the cushion or bench that you usually use, however, we have plenty of choices (including chairs) here. We will also have some of the meditation cushions that we use here at the Shambhala center for sale, so you can take one home with you if you'd like to purchase one.
